Timika, KAWATMAPIATV.ID – KNPB Timika has conducted a hearing on the transfer of files on the arrest of Yanto Awerkion, Botak kogoya and Meki Belau, on Wednesday, December 14 2022 at the Class II District Court, Timika Papua.
In the indictment, Yanto Awerkion is accused of being accused of Article 1 paragraph 1 of the emergency law number 1951 concerning changing the Ordonnantietijdelijke Bijzondere strafbefalingen STBL 1945 and prawn law number 8 of 1948.
At that time, Yanto Awerkion, deputy chairman of the KNPB for the Timika area, was arrested by the State Intelligence Agency (BIN) and the Nemangkawi Team or the Cartenz Damai Team at his residence, Pondok Amor.
Prior to the trial, the public prosecutor was slow to provide the defendants with the indictment to study it, so the defendants filed an objection through attorneys at law, so the trial was adjourned until January 9, 2023.
Seeing this impropriety, we, the Timika Region KNPB, consider that the Attorney General's Office deliberately delayed the indictment in order to make it more difficult for the defendants before the trial.
This is where the Papuan people always shout that the law in the Republic of Indonesia is blunt up and sharp down.
As a form of solidarity and support, we appeal to all layers of non-Papuans and Papuans that for the smooth running of this trial, we really need prayer and energy.
Here are the names; (1. Free Yanto), (2. Free Botak), (3. Free Meki), (4. Free All Papuan Political Prisoners). We ask for unconditional release, he concluded. (*)
